AJA introduces Cion 4K camera $8,995!

Just looking at ergonomics it offers everything BMD cameras are lacking- HDMI, XLR and non DSLR form factor. I wonder what IQ will be like.

Woah, very interesting. As stated before, it really seems to be filling in the areas BMD aren't focusing on (ergonomics, audio, FPS etc), and I believe that's worth the premium for a lot of people.

With these kinds of camera's entering the market, I hope Sony are considering lowering their prices on the F5/F55 a little to remain competitive.

Global shutter, all flavours of ProRes, high frame rates and a sensible body design - I like the look of this right off the bat. If it can delivery with the imaging specs (dynamic range, 12-bit colour depth), I think AJA will have something pretty damn special on their hands.

This is the first camera that has got me excited just seeing the form factor, audio inputs, on board d-tap. Interested to see what sensor it has.

Unless the bottom part of the camera slides back and forth 'a la' Amira, the ergonomics are actually dreadful. With a zoom lens it looks like it will be incredibly front heavy when on your shoulder. Not good.

Good one to keep an eye out for. I like the "our accessories or yours" idea. One spot mentioned "AJA Raw" so it ticks all the boxes and AJA has the chops to make it work. $9K is a little high, I wouldn't pay more than $8995 ;) Hopefully there will be a Nikon mount for it, for my lenses.
