AJA Announces Ki Pro Mini, MSRP $1995

The new GH2 has 1080 output, apparently without artificial limitations, so my question is if the Aja Mini would supply what is missing in audio via it's XLR inputs. The problem with so many cheap XLR systems is the preamp, so how good is the Aja preamps? How much base noise?

They publish no specs for the EIN of the preamp, the maximum input level or the noise level of the AD. So, you can't verify compatibility with a mic or compare with something else. There are no specs about the performance of camcorder mic preamps either. One will have to directly compare with a specific camcorder and a specific mic, so it boils down to word of mouth.

thanks, you are a continuing source of wisdom. I will contact Aja and if I get a reply post it here.
 
so aja looks like what i will be looking for ,to go with my new af100 . for the budget of $2000. untill it is out and do a side by side comparison from the on board sd recording and the ki pro less compressed footage. with limited budget and i am now using good canon l glass, would i be better to spend the $2000.00 on better glass, maybe zeiss . put $$$ into glass or off camera sdi codec to get best results for the $$$$$..? any advice ?
