Airsoft Guns

I have a few questions about Airsoft guns and using them in film. After researching them I see they are very realistic looking guns so my question is, which kind gives the best blow back action? I see there are spring action ones which I would think look pretty good, are there any others that might look better?

Question number two, how to hell do I get these things into my country? I live in Canada and have come to the sad realization today that they won't ship them to me from the US. Dammit, I mean come on, whats so dangerous about shipping replica hand and machine guns freely through the mail?

Thanks,

FredX will deliver to Canada. He has a big old Buick with "extra" trunk space. As far as why you can't have them up there, it's probably to prevent people using them in crimes, or confusing the cops when just shooting a movie.

Hey, I frequently use airsoft guns in my movies in place of an actual piece, and on top of that, I am an avid airsoft player(as much as possible, that is.)
I would highly recommend going to www.airsoftforum.com/board/index.php and joining, then going to the legal section. They will most definitely be able to help you with all your questions about shipping and purchasing airsoft guns in canada.
As far as realistic blow back action, what you're looking for is a GBB, or Gas Blow Back. There are EBB's out there, but they are not very realistic and don't work or function all that well. They will end up breaking very soon.
A GBB functions off of green gas, which you can purchase by the bottle for about the price of two tapes. A GBB fires a small 6mm plastic airsoft pellet, and they do not hurt all that much, though adequate safety protection should be used. You will most likely only need one magazine, which comes with the gun, and you won't need BB's, as you won't be actually using it. Try going to www.shortyusa.comb and click on gas guns at the top of the page. You will then see a myriad assortment. Be very sure that you get a Gas Blow Back, as this is the only one that will give you that realistic blow back. Since you are in a cold climate, the gun will also most likely emit a a very small, realistic cloud upon firing, which should emulate a real gun perfectly. Just search around for the one that fits your price and is most like what you envision, and you should find something!

Wow! Thanks so much Capt and Danstin, I will definitely make sure I get the GBB kind. I just hope now they can get it to me up here. I'll have to wait for winter before I can check out the cloud upon firing, it's been quite warm here lately, it was reaching about 38 degrees Celsius not long ago!
