Airsoft Gas/Electric Difference?

Hello.
Tried doing a search on this but didn't find this particular question.

What is the difference between the battery powered airsofts and the gas ones? Other than one taking batteries, is there anything else?

What I'm looking for are guns that give the appearance of when the trigger is pulled, the slide comes back and chambers another imaginary round.

the battery one i used seemed to have a slow moving slide (could just be a cheap one) and the gas ones I've used seem to work better.
 
gas is deffinetly better, i have one of these

and it looks very real even without adding a muzzle flash in post
 
Gas sounds real, looks real, feels real, it is a real gun. It just doesn't shoot bullets. Also, it's normally the same weight as the real gun would be, so the blowback and interaction from the actors will be closer to a real gun. More expensive than electric though.
 
If you don't live in one of these states you mightn want to check out blank firing replicas (SPECIAL RESTRICTIONS ON THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS:
Connecticut, Kansas, Massachusetts, Minnesota, California
Wisconsin, New York City, and Puerto Rico.)

They use 8 or 9mm blanks, the barrels are plugged, and they cost less than some of the higher quailty gas blowback guns out there.


Pull back the slide to load the first blank into the chamber. When the last blank is fired, the slide will lock back just like the real thing. Blank shells are ejected from the top of the barrel after each shot.

I suggest going with a blow black gas airsoft me and my friend own and they are great we have thought about using them for film since they appear and shoot like a real gun and later in post you can add whatever you want, muzzle flash, bullet. .etc.
 
I have never found a muzzle flash added in post that I liked (well maybe professional stuff), I'd prefer to do it during shooting and 8mm blank guns are perfect for that, they give real blowback and flash, not to mention ejecting the cartridge out the top, you can pick them up for like 80 bucks a pop on ebay usually.
