ahhh, capture is not working! help!

i'm trying to capture (capture now) and i keep getting "File Error: unkown file". anyone have a guess as to what's going on?

p.s: i recently had to have my computor's user acounts re-established do to start up failure and i think this may have affected it.
 
Have you possibly upgraded your operating system or any other significant programs like final cut or quicktime?

If so, you may need to upgrade other programs for the computer to understand what's being asked.

also, check what the status is of your scratch disk ie where you are capturing to. You might need to create a new folder for capturing(especially if you've done an upgrade).

If you are capturing directly to computer from camera(no tape), you need to switch the firewire to a non-controllable device(something i was taught by CaptMench). If you are capturing from a tape you need to have the firewire set up accordingly to like firewire dv.

damn, i'm also getting "File Error: Acces Denied". Any input on that?

my scratch disk and preferences are in line as they should be.
