Hi,

So I was speaking to a couple of friends and we thought it might be nice to have a small lighting kit. Searching through CL, I found three of these http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/33098-REG/Matthews_386034_Preemie_Baby_Stand.html

for a lot less than retail, but just "found out" they are a bit short. I had to act quick. Worth keeping or sell them? We also need some c-stands and was told something like a gobo head w extension arm could be useful. They are in pretty good shape.

depends. a little short for what? A little short for the specific reason you bought them? Sure. But height is relative. They might (and probably will) work out great for many uses. If I saw these at a good price I'd definitely add them to my kit if I was short a few stands.
And yeah, you can always put a gobo head on it... or a billion other things that stands, ever short ones, can be used for
