I expect many of us can appreciate this old TV show from 1987. Set a century into the future, evil machine forces have risen to power and are resisted by remaining humans who lack the mechanical strength of the enemy but possess values such as compassion and nobility. It was a kid's show with live action characters, adult storylines, drama, lots of pryo & special effects, scored music, miniatures, chroma keying, steadicam & jib shots and even CGI characters. Plus the show interacted with the toys which could fire at the show which could also fire back. Nothing like it before or since. Star Trek later copied the BORG from Lord Dread and the dark assimilating theme.

I remember trying to explain the CGI characters to my cousin back then. I was like, it's not a model and it's not a cartoon. I didn't know what they were but they looked shiny and moved mechanically.
