Ah...the XL2

Ok before i start i dont want this to turn into a debate about wether the xl2 or dvx (in this case the hvx) is better, because god knows there have been plenty of those. I bought the xl2 when it first came out, and i sold my dvx100a to buy it, well at least pay for some of it. The footage i've seen from the hvx is amazing, but the problem is that I cant test out the hvx myself, because even here out in LA no one has it on display, the only way to get ahold of one is rent it for around 300 a day. So i guess my question is, is it worth it in the sense to "upgrade" to the hvx because i feel that the hvx really is getting the cinema quality colors that alot of indie filmakers are looking for. So should i fork out the money sell my xl2 for a camera i cant even try? And for people who already own the Hvx and have possibly tried used or owned an xl2, what do you think? Sorry for the long post, thanks alot for any help!

DOWN WITH THE XL2!!!!!!

Sorry, what was your question?

Seriously, did you try contacting EVS? I bet they'd let you take a look at one. Though, maybe not. Who knows.

I've been impressed with the footage from the HVX but I'm still happy with my DVX, so while I lust after the indie dolly, a 35mm adapter, a Steadicam Flyer, I have no need right now for the HVX.

If it delivers what you want and you trust the opinion of certain members here (Jarred & Barry Green), as I do, then it is a simple answer to get the HVX.

Used XL2's are getting great prices on Ebay, bad prices on the message boards.

I agree... I want to go to the next step with the DVX before I move onto the HVX. Baby steps... baby steps...
