The other night I rented a film called Agora, starring Rachel Wiesz. It is about the tragic clash between Christians, Jews, and Romans during the 4th Century AD in the city of Alexandria, Egypt.
This film had a smart script, strong direction, great performances, beautiful cinematography, and excellent production and costume design. My brother, who is a classicist, watched it with me, and he approved of the technical details of the films portrayal of the period.
I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys historical films, epics, or any type of fiction that deals with the debate between science and religion.
