AG-MYA30G Adapter Connector?

So I just got this AG-MYA30G XLR adapter for my Panasonic AG-DVC30 camera (which is on its way to me now). There is an 8-pin hirose connector coming from the adapter to connect to the camera. Does the DVC30 have that kind of connection, or did I get screwed by the dude on eBay I bought it from? I thought the adapter was supposed to have an 1/8" connector? Thanks for your help.

Hi, I too have a DVC30 and it does indeed have that 8-pin connection. The AG-MYA30G is made solely for the DVC30 so you should have no issues what-so-ever. So no worries, everything will work fine.

There is a small flap toward the right-front of the camera that houses the 8-pin connector as well as a few other things which I have forgotten about. In the box (if you bought it that way) you should actually recieve a mic mount and a replacement flap that leaves a little hole so that the 8-pin connector is exposed... you know, so you don't have to leave the flap open.

Thanks Stephen. I got it all hooked up, and it looks great.

What mic did you end up going for with your DVC30? Any little tips you think would help a new DVC30 user? Thanks for the reply!
