I just bought the AG-MC100G and play around with it. I use headphone to hear the sound directly but it still doesn't sound like real movies! It's kinda crappy sound!

It sounds crappy cuz it's a crappy mic. If you can return it, do. "Real movies" (read Hollywood studio movies) are recorded with $1000+ mics (some of them multiple thousands of dollars). You are gonna have to get into that range to get "movie sound". Additionally to get that sound, the mic is step one of a 1000 step process to get theatre quality sound.
Poke around this forum for some quality mic sugguestions.
ok I understand that I did a mistake by buying this mic but the seller at the shop told me that it was good enough unless I want to shoot and hear a person at 60feet away... he told me that by getting a better mic I'll just have more distance... it seems to be totally false..... :-[
most sales person would push customers to buy more expensive and better product,
but this sales guy went the other way, less expensive and crappy product.
My guess is this was a shop that does not carry quality mics (primarily a video/camera shop?). If this is the same place you bought your DVX I would go back and argue that the mic did not meet your expetations as relayed to you by the salesman. If you have given them business before (and you make them believe you will have future big dollar purchases)they would foolish to not make you happy over $200.
They sale DVX but I didn't buy it from them because they were like 200$ over the price. Yes they and a Senheiser me/66 with the adapter!!! This is what I don't understand! I was like if this sales man can sell me a more expensive mic and he don't do it, it's because I really have to buy the cheaper one!
it not sounds like movie becouse you dont do a movie sound , you just recording something not usble , make the anvierment to be movie anvierment and place your mike in the right place , you would get the first step to useble sound , and if its not work , you can alwais call it guid track and do adr ( see itallians , russian moovies from then to now)
there is nothing wrong to pay someone who more understand then you to create your project as you wish to see .
never worked with this one and probably never would , its not a good tool in my eyes when someone pay me for his imagination .
good sound person,
For a documentary, you could probably shoot and record sound by yourself,
but if you want the movie sound ??? , you need a good boom operator, mixer, recorder etc.
It is really hard to get natural and clean sound even with high end mics.
I am learning my hard lesson right now. :-/
sound is a HUGE part of film making.
good luck.
