i would get a nice supercardioid shotgun mike, as well as look into getting some multi channel UHF lavaliers as well cause they dont always let the camera be all up close and personal to the happenings with the preacher and all.
Do your self a favor and save your money. Yo do not need a shotgun microphone if you are doing weddings. Invest in a good wireless lav set yp and maybe a minidisc recorder. We have found out the hard way that the shotguns are useless in wedding environments. Especially at receptions. We bought 2 new Sennheiser ME66 shotguns for our DVX's and they are worthless. They are way too directionall at receptions. If they are not pointed at the source of the audio they will drop out. If yo are shooting with your back to the DJ speakers you will loose audio in the channel the shotgun is plugged into. These microphones are intended to capture dialogue and not decible crunching music. Thats my two cents worth. By the way I am selling 2 almost new Sennheiser ME66!
