AG-MC100 Shotgun Mic

I have an AG-MC100 shotgun mic.

Has anybody here attached it to a boom pole for audio?

If so, how did it sound?

I have an AG-MC100 mic, I have not tried it but when on on camera mic, i found the sound quality better if you are closer to the subject. I guess this will be the same thing if attached it to a boom pole. Mic will sound better if closer to the target.
