AG-ez1u

my uncle just bought a well worn AGEZ1U, for $200. Works great actually.... ITs missing a few components, like the AC adaptor, and the remote. Any ideas on where to find parts??? Already checked Ebay, and Google for parts, nothing....

Weirdest looking Thing ever.... Biggest Eyepiece in existance, plus it had custom multi cables, Svideo/miniRCA all in one, and no 1394 port. i guess it was a relic from before NLE....or maybe only DV Decks were available at the time. Either way, its a strange machine, that looks like it's body was designed around the mechanichs as opposed to making it aesthetically pleasing.

Re: AG-ez1u

What you have there, my friend, is basically the XL0. That's the camera that Canon licensed the chipset from and built the XL1 on.

A great camera in its day, and the first camera to offer "frame mode". It didn't do too well in the marketplace for three reasons that I can think of:
1) weird appearance
2) no firewire port
3) no manual audio level control

Other than that, it was way ahead of its time.

Re: AG-ez1u

stanley kubrick used it on the set of eyes wide shut. id ont know why,but i saw a picture of him in the directos chair with a camera in front of him. on top of it was an AG-ez1u, capturing everything his big boy captured.

Re: AG-ez1u

man that is one of the coolest cameras, It actually shows up in some movies from now and then as some hi tech xray scope etc.
