AG-A7200 Conversion lense and despair

I'm not sure exactly how it happened, but my lense wont come off, and the place the screw goes in is stripped I think. I guess they were serious when they said not to screw it in too tightly, I thought it was a crappy design to begin with and I hate it, except I like that I get good images with it. But I guess now I am stuck with it on and loose. Unless someone knows a secret of some sort. Well, there goes 4200 dollars sortof...since I got it when it came out and when I wasn't broke. I hope im not screwed, but I have a feeling I am.

yeah, I've read some of them, but I dont think anyone else has stripped the place where the screw goes, but I could be wrong. And I guess I will have to always shoot widescreen now and find something to keep the lense straight.

gaffer tape it. No there's a way, I saw someone else had the same problem a while back, do a search and maybe you'll get lucky.good luck.

Here is something you can try. Find an allen screw, or in the US they are called hex screws, find one just slightly bigger than the opening and screw it in, with luck the new screw will cut new threads and the problem is solved. I've used this method on plastics and aluminium. Good luck.

The workaround is to get the lens out and hot press a nut in there. I presume you have the older model where the screw goes into plastic. The new one has a brass nut in there.
