Why does it give me this? Its using the latest XVid codec and I drag the clip to the window I can watch it fine, but once I plunk it into the timeline and try and move the slider it gives me that error, error single frame.

Anyone?

What reason are you using streams in AE? You usually use standalone files (quicktime, etc).

Sounds like it is with the codec then. Can you convert the clip to a more standard codec and try that? Also what framerate are you editing at vs what is the fps of the clip?

Pretty sure they are both set at 23.98 or whatever it is. I'll check though and see if thats the problem. Thanks.

I got this problem too. But at last I manage to fix it by converting the audio to wave or MP3. Because the I'm using the original audio file which is WMA format. That's the reason it's pop up the error. I think the video files can cause the problem too. If u use the files from net or different format. Then U have to convert it before U use it.

alot of people get this error because they are overextending thier ram when using AE. try lowering your memory usage and memory cache . generally the memory usage alone is overextended. try loweing it to about 60% or so, and keep your cache amount low enough so that the total of both will not exeed 100% of your available ram FOR PROGRAMS (which is likely 2 GB unless you've swithed your boot to support 3 GB in your XP PRO OS) ..remember.. dont use up the total available ram on your system including what the OS is supposed to use.. just use a little under whats availabe to programs aside from what the OS has allocated. and if you run other programs at the same time.. adjust accordingly.
