Making "good" movies is a team thing, if you think you know how to accomplish every task and either attempt to do it yourself or tell others how to do thier job you become the single point of failure, that's what happened on the recent project I mentioned earlier.
A better approach is to build a core team of people you can trust and communicate your vission with and then enable them to go out and manage the extended team of artists, actors and craftsmen.
If you are not mature enough to understand or accomplish this then find someone who is and work with them. When you hear about projects failing and they attribute that failure to ego, this is what they are generally reffering too.
