After Effects - 3D Camera Tracking Issue

Just starting to learn how to use the 3D camera tracker in AE. I'm having problems locking down layers using a null object. (deleted)

As you can see, the layer (a photoshop file) kinda tracks but only for part of the shot. Does anyone have have insight on what I'm doing wrong? Appreciate the help.

That shot is more suitable for a 2D tracker, like mocha. It appears that your camera is mostly rotating, not moving in a way that creates the parallax that a 3D camera tracker can help with.
 
well I'm getting close... I'm able to create locked down text from the bulls eye target: (deleted)

I'm also able to create a locked down null object. But what I can't figure out is how to attach a 2d layer to the null object. I tried: 1) turning it into a 3d layer and 2) pick whipping it to the Null Object

Anyone have any suggestions?

Ok, finally figured out a solution: Once camera tracking analysis is finished use the bullseye target to create a solid. PRE-COMPOSE solid and then inside the precomp, add whatever layer or image you wish.
