after affects camera

Hey alrite i have this clip edited in after effects, its basically a camera moving around a 3d "tunnel" on the walls, i have pictures and things. I was going to put a video along parts of the wall too. so i put a white screen there as a placeholder so after i finish editing the video that goes along the wall i can put it in.
So heres my problem, as of now, i have a clip that i edited that i want to put along that wall in Premier Pro 2.0, when i edited the camera animtion in after effects i didnt stay focus looking at the white screen (where i was going to put the video) for as long as the duration of the clip, so what i wanted to was know if i can "freeze" the camera movement in after effects. i tried moving the the keyframes further apart, but only to have all my other camera angles messed up.

originally i was going to render out the animation form after effects (with the white screens as placeholder) edit THAT clip in premier pro (since i can play around with the duration then go back to after effects and use perspective motion tracking to track the footage onto the white screens.

my only issue is that ill be losing all the 3d properties. so if i can find a way to hold the camera without messing up anything else in after effects itll be a lot easier, espcailly since i can just replace the white screen with the video (rather than dealing iwth motion tracks)
suggestions? hope that made sense. lol thanks

I'd suggest copying the keyframe you used to 'hit' the spot where you want the camera to stay. Then place it again when you want it to move...

Now -- you should only use the easy in and the easy out for those keyframes... not the easyease... because the camera will wonder.

Also -- if you tied the camera to a null you'd only have to worry about moving the null. IF you didn't... then you've got a lot more controls to worry about on just the camera. I'd turn down all the motion options on the camera including POI and Position... keyframe EVERYTHING at that one spot where the camera hits the image and copy ALL of those keyframes to the point where you want it to leave.

Good luck,

Good call Capt!

haha i appreciate the advice. im fiddling with it. i havent tied the camera position to a Null, still being amateur my composition is a lil messy. iwhen i make a keyframe of the same POI and position and place it further down my timeline, the camera still wanders around between the 2 keyframes (going back to the same position) im guessing this might have been what you said about easy ease and easy in/out, (ive used easy ease) i tried looking at the graph and it wouldnt let me straighten out the line.

i might also not be understanding what you mean by "I'd turn down all the motion options on the camera including POI and Position.." how do i "turn down the motion" options? (as in what is turning down?) sorry for the trouble.
but i do appreciate the help. if all else fails or this becomes more tedious, i might render everything out and edit in PP2 and then just motion track the vids on the white screen. but i do hope thats a last alternative. lol :dankk2:
