Hello,
I was looking at some tripods on Evsonline and saw that they cost alot more then I had expected. Can someone tell me if these are just really really excellent top of the line tripods, or is that how much they just cost (I saw them for over a thousand dollars!). Are these for much bigger cameras? What is a good brand for the dvx and how much should I expect to pay for a good tripod? Thanks alot. Tim.

Re: Affordable tripods

Tim,

Check out the "for sale" thread and you wil notice that I am selling the 501 head for a great deal, if you are interested. Many would say that the 501 is the bare mininum you should use for the DVX. Just to let you know I am planning on buying a more expensive head. (So in the long run you may even consider spending $300-1000 on the head) It should be a great head for just starting off. And then you can buy whatever legs you would prefer from EVS or B&H or Ebay.

can't go wrong on a good head and good legs. 503 is better than the 501. good legs run about $3 - $500 on the cheap end. You are looking at around 7 -$800 for a sturdy basic set-up.

The 501 is like playing around with Super Glue, the thing is useless to anyone taking this seriously.
