Affordable Tripod

Which tripod do you recommend with nice, smooth movements. BTW, I've been reading about fluid head and how good it is. What does it mean?

What's your budget? I'm guessing under $500 since it doesn't sound like your looking for seriously pro equipment.

Minimum for a true "fluid" really is a Libec system. There is this system for $179 (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/131444-REG/Libec_THM20_TH_M20_Aluminum_2_Stage_Tripod.html) I've never used it, but it looks interesting. Then there's this (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/376871-REG/Libec_LS22ZC3_LS_22_Aluminum_Tripod_System.html) It's a really nice head considering the entire system is only $400! There are some other systems for under $500, but the libec is really the best and will give you the smoothest results.

More important, what camera are you using? If you have a heavy weight camera with battery packs, hard drive recorder, you will easily go over the 8.8 lbs those cheaper tripods will handle.

I use a Libec on occasion, not sure which model, but they are very good for the money.

That model is probably more than adequate for your needs.
