Affordable light Kit for School

My school is looking to purchase some a light kit for a club that produces a variety of videos for the school. I have had difficulty finding economical lights, while something like from this from lowell would be nice, it's a bit expensive. On the other hand, there are cheapo Britek light kits like this, but 200 watts just isn't adequite.
Basically what I think we need is:
3 lights w/stands, barn doors, and the ability to mount a gel. (alternate between 3200k and 5600k)
preferably atleast 350 watts per light. Also we would need a decent case to keep everything together seeing as it's a school..things will be more likely to be lost.

I'm not really sure what kit would be best suited, if anyone could suggest one, it would be greatly appreciated.

you have to also keep into concideration that when you use gels, you cut the light at least by half. ive noticed using 1200 watts, using a ctb gel, i barely get any light at all. so unless you have these lights right next to your subjects, dont expect much to happen.

im currently using ( britek i know... ) the britek 600/1200 watt fixtures with barndoors , heavy duty stand, and softboxes, which are working out amazingly for me, unfortunately not all have had success with these. Mine have been used alot alot and no problems as of yet. However when i first purchased them, i had a defective bulb, but they sent me a replacement, and nothing since then.

Do you think a Halo Flood or Halo spot would be better for 3-point lighting?? Or maybe a combination? Like two spots and 1 flood or vice versa?

it really depends on the asthetic you go for.

I mean, a spot light is more concentrated, and a flood is more diffused(maybe not diffused, but softer and less powerful). If you want higher contrast lighting, use spot, if not, flood.

I see. Sounds like two spots and a flood as a fill light would work nicely for us. :dankk2:

PS: The Britek floods and spots both allow you to mount Gels right???
