Affordable 4K camera from Panasonic?

Take this with a grain of salt though. A big grain. It is a rumour after all. However, perhaps it can generate discussion and kill some time in the lead up to NAB - the last week till NAB is always the slowest haha ;)

I hope this is true though. Especially given that I just bought two Micro Four-Thirds lenses; Noktor HyperPrime 12mm T1.6 and Noktor HyperPrime 25mm T0.95.

Anyways - does anyone here speak Janapense?

There is always hope. Hope NAB has some pleasant surprises this year.

I have been hesitant to invest in M4/3 glass even though there are some amazing lenses out there due to the uncertainty at panasonic. It would really boost M4/3 sales if they came strong with a great M4/3 4K Camcorder.

He's probably saying that everybody is hoping for a cheap 4k camera, so it would be so easy to fool them with this video.

I think it's inevitable at some point in the next couple years. Especially with H.265 being out. I'm not sure about this year though. Would be cool.

H.265 unfortunately doesn't yet support 4:2:2 or 4:4:4 or any bit depth above 8 bits. But Panasonic extended AVC, so I expect something similar with H.265. And for those who need raw, Panasonic could license CineForm RAW and output it over 3G-SDI or even HDMI.
