AE's Questions

generally its a stock footage element with an alpha channel to work with and colorize as you see fit, you just place it and the other paint splatter elements into your comp as desired and go from there. www.videocopilot.net has a bunch of grunge stock elements in there riot gear collection, and www.artbeats.com has a trillion of them in SD and HD volumes. im sure there are more places to get them as well, or you can easily create your own with some time on your hands, some black paint and a white background, and some levels adjustments to give a clean alpha channel on your various splatters. i use foam board or whatever to make splatters on cause its cheap. but you can use paper if you do it smaller for even cheaper.

You can do that a couple of ways. One, you can have a picture of the drips and have a mask revealing the drip. Or two, use the liquify filter on whatever you want to drip. Apply the filter and use the work tool which is the one with the finger/ hand icon and choose the desired brush side. Now you just paint the drips down from the image or text. Then you keyframe by using the "distortion percentage" option within the liquify filter. Hope this helps, I saw it in a tutorial awhile back.

This does help a lot guys thanks! I am going to try it out tonight.

FreshStep do you still have the link to that tutorial?
