Oh snap. I thought this day was never actually going to happen. I think I put my request to join this forum in around the first Bush presidency. Well, glad it finally came through so I can get the chance to talk some shop with other film heads.
My name Is Xander and I live in the Bay Area by way of Boulder, CO. I'm probably on the fast track to LA but for the moment I'm trying to savor the harsh mediocrity of San Francisco's weather patterns. I went to film school for about a semester in CO, got straight A's, and was asked to take a leadership position within the school to help build student community. I then promptly dropped out and spent the next few years trying to wash the taste of film school out of my mouth. In the interim I've been doing light videography work here and there, doing the random spot of consulting, and working in developing a strong skill set in motion graphics, cinematography, & choking money out of sketchy clients. Now I co-own an aerial cinematography company called CopterOptics.

Please ignore the frame rate chop. It's something to do with the Vimeo compression that I can't figure out for the life of me.
I got back into the world of production (film) after exiting the world of production (music) when I became waaaaaay too successful as a VJ and realized everyone at the top is a massive dick. I'm really looking forward to having a community of knowledgeable people to talk about the craft with and share techniques, insights and critique of work.
If anyone in the Bay has work for sexy robots, or are just looking to do some collaboration projects, let's talk.
Pleasure meeting you all, faceless and nameless though you may be at present, and I look forward to a storied and rocky relationship with all of you. Cheers.
