Aeon Flux

No poo poo! - Ratings are just silly on what is "ok" and what is "bad"

Ok just got back from seeing Aeon Flux. Here is my take:

Most of you will hate it. While the movie stayed true to some of Aeon's traits. The acting was bland, the story was kind of weak and the action sequences were "blah".

There were some things that were interesting and the small twist was interesting but it's hard not to notice that bad things. There was some parts that were really badly edited and a scene that made no logical sense. I was like "What the f@#k did she do that for, that was stupid"

It's not the worst movie I've ever seen *cough* Incredible Hulk *cough* but it certaintly wasn't the best.

My friend said he kind of liked it. He said it wasn't a total was of $6.75.

That's my take without ruining things for you.

This film could've worked with Robert Rodriquez or Guillermo Del Toro at the helm. Good concept butchered to death.

Isaac, I totally agree. The director butchered this film. It lacked something that Rodriquez or Del Toro could have brought.

Picked this up on DVD this week. Not horrible but never really took off. Charlize looked a lot hotter in The Italian Job IMO. Did wish the costume was closer to the animated one :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG) . I do agree about the monster thing, some shots she seemed to have a bit of a belly still.

I hear there is a directors cut with 15 or was it 30? minutes or so put back in. Although, I do agree about bad casting. They need to get unknows for this, people would still go see it. if the trailer sold it well. You would have to market it alot though. Also, a darker film would have been better.

As for the title I couldn't even pronouce it when I first heard about it, they could renamed it to like... The Last City on Earth or something equally retarted (i'm not good with titles)

Ha ha, I just popped this in on Instant. Have to say, it's been some time since I've seen a movie this incompetent. This isn't even like the Matrix sequels where you watch out of sheer horror and disbelief. It was so bad I was actually bored. This looks like something even the SciFi Channel rejected. Wow.

You know it's bad when even Charleze Theron in a tight catsuit can't even keep you watching. This was embarrassing.

The MTV shorts were pretty cool, but I knew the film would never approach their off kilter, Lynchian weirdness so I have never watched it. Doesn't seem like I should.

Wow, take me back to 2005?

This film could work, but you'd need a demented genius at the helm, not some corporate cog serving up the usual to the gullible.

First mistake: it was NOTHING like the cartoons it was based on. It was like a cheezy B movie with a big budget. Major red flag.

It needed to be more like A Scanner Darkly and Waking Life, some "mind-phark"* trip where you never knew what kind of reality to latch onto.

It could still work! (Call me, MTV, call me.)

* -- Whoever programmed this website to substitue "mind-poo poo" for "mind-f(*k" I worry for your soul. I don't think of poo poo and sexual intercourse in the same way. Does anyone?

Damn, I got all excited when I saw this in the 'What's New' section thinking someone was going to remake the Aeon Flux movie as it should have been. :( Yeah, I actually bought it for 99 cents in a used bin to watch it. Only because that was the cheapest way to see it since none of my friends had it.

Some pieces of work are defined by their creators and exist for their weird idiosyncrasies.
Why they refused to involve Peter Chung is beyond me.

Yep, it is a retelling of the story of Alexander the Great. The first season is Awesome. I have to all on DVD and was very impressed. The writing after the first season is not as good to me, but definitely, worth seeing the whole thing.
