AE Render Problem - COR_BibAlloc

I'm working on an animation - 1280x720 - Using various layered PSD files (some are very large 5000x5000)

Everytime I try to render I get this error:

ae_problem.png

Current memory preferences:

ae_memory.png

Computer Specs:
Intel Pentium 4 - 3.20GHz
2 GB Ram
Nvidia 7900 GT - 256mb

Ideas?

The large PSD's could be choking your RAM. Hold down the shift key while opening up the preferences and step through until you see the secret menu. From there you can set AE to purge the RAM after every few frames. It's worth a shot.

What to do on a Mac?- I have 8GB Ram, AE only goes up to 3gb yet I still have the same problem as above. Shift clicking prefs didn't work on Leopard

I'm on CS3 / Mac (Tiger) and it works fine. Are you stepping through the pref menus or just shift clicking on preferences?

Shift clicking on prefs doesn't work for me I tried pressing Cmd. alt, and ; whilst holding shift and that didn't get the secret menu.

Exactly what do I need to press?

I'm not in front of AE right now, I'll do the best I can.
- Hold down the shift key and select preferences
- a sub menu should appear showing the various pref settings (General, grid, etc.)
- select General
- a pop up window will appear, you can 'step through' the all the menus using the prev or next buttons on the right hand side of the window.
- The secret menu is at the end of the menus. You can hit the next button several times until you see the secret menu or hit the prev button once.

Give this a go. I'll check back later.

Thanks that worked.

Also I found changing my RAM settings back to the default 120% and 60% made it work a lot smoother.
