AE: No Audio....Any Reason Why????

Hey Guys,
Im new to AE but I just picked up Adobe Production Premium CS4. So i'm here playing around with AE and I figured let me try to place a title on a short clip I have with some music. I import a QuickTime mov into the project pane and then bring it into the composition window. Before I start any type of work I play the clip. The video plays but there is no sound. In the timeline I can see the Waveform but no AUDIO.
For the record...I just closed down FCP and the audio works and I closed down Itunes...so I know for a fact I have audio and its working properly.
Any suggestions for a newbie? I'm real eager to start learning but I hit a pot hole from the gate.

In after effects, when you go to make a movie, you have to enable audio output in the lossless settings.

Could you just tell me where I would find the lossless settings? I just got the program so its a bit overwhelming. Thanks

Drag your composition into the Render Queue > click on Output Module > choose Format: QuickTime Movie > choose Format Options in the Video Output > make sure Audio Output is also checked.

But the truth is AE really is very overwhelming at first. You probably have to delve into a book like Classroom In A Book for After Effects. It will answer some of your questions. Start at the beginning and start working through. It took me a year or more to start getting comfortable in AE. But I was starting truly from scratch--I'd never used any compositing or 3D application before, so I had to learn everything from the ground up.

(Oh, and I just noticed, you're actually not worried about no audio in your OUTPUT, but rather you're worried you're not getting audio while playing your composition in the timeline. This is an unusual thing about After Effects. It never plays audio while you're playing your project...unless you tell it to. The audio is there. But you have to click on the period (.) on the numerical keypad to get it to play with audio.)
