AE freezes when I import .psd

Hi,

My authorized copy of After Effects sits on the pinwheel whenever I try to import a .psd file into my project. I've googled and googled, and I seem to be the only one with this problem. It only recently started occurring.

I'm running a Mac Pro with 10gb RAM, 2 x 3 GHz Quad Core Intel Xeon, with plenty of hard drive space, and Snow Leopard. Do you think this is an OS compatibility issue?

I can't seem to think of anything else, and the software never used to do this before.

Please help! I'll be calling Adobe tomorrow.

How are you importing it? drag and drop or File>Import?

Might be worth reinstalling AE and see if that works?

Reinstalled a few times, same problem still occurs. Both dragging/dropping and File > Import, even the keyboard shortcut, don't work. I've just sent a ticket to Adobe Support.
