AE export for PAL television with HD broadcast signal?

Hi

I was wondering if anyone knew the best export settings I should use for a show that will be broadcast on television (HD broadcast signal)? I have never worked for tv so I am used to just square pixels but I'm at bit confused now it comes to the export.

I have created a project in After Effects 1440 x 1080 pixel aspect 1.33. If I export as an avi will the final image appear as 16:9 when played back on PAL tv? Render time is about 13 hours so I don't have room for trial and error and I have no way of testing output on a tv monitor.

Any help would be appreciated

Your broadcaster will have a Specs and Requirements Sheet specific to them.

You need to ask them what they want as regards a deliverable.
