AE Design Question.

Hi guys, I was watching a tv show the other day and it had some really interesting titles. I created a quick video of some of them here.

I was wondering if any of you knew of how this affect was created, or if there are any similar presets? I know they must have used masking to create the footage in the text.

Whilst there might be some text animation presets in there, I see an instance of card wipe in there for breaking the titles to pieces fast.

Agreed on the card wipe. Possibly a solid with cardwipe acting as a track matte to the textlayer, which is masking the fluid video layer.

is that for the end credits? or for the title bit? I just looked into the Card Wipe transition. It seems to be used for a different effect:

That looks like a lot of text animation (you could use presets) colored white and being used as a luma matte for video underneath. THere is also footage of a flame at the beginning, again used as a luma matte. There is also some scaling going on at times as well.
