Hi,
we've recently shot the first days content for a short (approx 30 min doc for internal marketing purposes) on fire and rescue training within the military so there is lots of opportunity for great visual content as they carry out simulated rescues, smoke room navigation and equipment handling,
so far we have interviews with the apprentices on their backgrounds, reasons for joining and their hopes for the future,
we'll be going back to shoot about a week's worth of content each month leading up to their (hopefully) successful completion of the course,
they are providing short weekly video diaries to us on their personal progress and thoughts on how its going, we also will interview their superiors and trainers on the course,
there are always supervisors present to ensure the info they give us is within guidelines and fits with the organisations objectives for the piece which hinders us a bit as the apprentices are often restricted on what they can say,
I need advice on how to script and structure the doc, and any pointers on our interview approach,
I want to avoid it being a really dry corporate style doc and create an engaging narrative arc that really makes the viewer connect with the apprentices,
we have shot lots of corporate doc's before from 5 min company case studies to 30 min broadcast corporates and they are well received but I want to really step up the quality of our output so any advice, links to relevant resources, documentaries to watch, scriptwriting tips or pointers are greatly appreciated,
Many Thanks
