Advice on lighting daytime interior scene?

As often as I can, I put my talent next to a window and light the scene through the window. Unfortunately, in this particular scene we are deep within a bar room, during the day.

Does anyone have any advice on how they would light this location. The action takes place all over the room. lighting 3.jpglighting 1.jpglighting 2.jpglighting 4.jpg

- A fair bit of the action happens at the bar, but I can't figure out how to create an interesting light on the talents' faces when it's shot with daylight.

- I don't want to use the fluroescent lights in the ceiling.

- The scene will take all day to shoot so I can't rely on the natural light from the windows.

- Shooting from behind the bar into the room gives me with lens haze because of the windows on the opposite side of the room.

- I need to show the televisions in one shot (playing horse racing) so probably need to put curtains up behind them to stop my lens flaring.

- One option might be to flag all of the windows and shoot it with artificial lights, but I have a couple of wide shots that I need to maintain a deep focus in.

Hmmm.... any ideas?

Merci.

I commented on a short in the User film section that sort of had the same problem. Big windows letting in sun light filling the room. But occasionally the 'movie' light became obvious... so, I think in order to light this and not have those problems, you should think about adding light in the 'less than good lit' areas with bounce off the ceiling. and big soff light to the sides as necessary.

As for the shot towards the window, one may consider putting up some sort of ND material to cut the light coming in for that shot.
