Advice on Improving Mic Collection

Two years ago, i posted asking about what would be the best all around mic to shoot with, and the resounding answer was the MKH416. Well, you guys were right, since (i gotta say) even for novice sound guy like me, i can just tell that it sounds pretty much awesome.

My only, issue, as everyone stated was it isn't the best mic for closed areas, since it's a shotgun. I knew this going in, i just didn't really have the money at the time to get an indoor mic of the same quality.

So... that leads me to now. If i wanted to spend around the same money, on a mic that is specifically designed to work in small areas and produce the same great sound quality that the MKH416 does in outdoor, uncontrolled environments, what mic would you guys recommend?

For interiors you are going to hear a few suggestions kicked around a lot, but ultimately it will be a hyper cardiod.

The three most popular are the Schoeps, AKG, or Oktava.

I have used the Oktava and AKG, so I will let someone else discuss the pros and cons of the Schoeps.

With the Oktava
Pro: Great performance vs. Price (under $200). Great mic for any interior if you are within 2-3' of the speaker.
Cons: You really need wind protection that will be at least at a softie level and it is very suseptable to handling noise, which then requires a more expensive shockmount.

AKG CK83 & SE300B
Pros: Great hyper mic. Great value (about $400 for this set up). Modular, which means you can add other caps to convert it into a shotgun or cardiod mic (this is a plus for me). Better sound quality than the Oktava. You also can get away with foam for interiors as it is not as hot.
Cons: I have been using mine for about 2 weeks and can't find any major cons. I am not implying it is perfect, it is just I don't have as much experience finding the big negatives yet. I use a Gitzo shockmount and haven't had problems with that.

A big selling point towards the Oktava is that you can go 2x with the Oktava to mic different positions as you can get 2 of these for the cost of the AKG. They don't disappoint.
