Advice on hiring crew members out of state... Texas shoot in 3 days!

I've posted an ad in the jobs section: http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=219887

but after very few responses I'm getting worried that I won't have all the crew I need. I'm paying some money, but not top dollar. I can't squeeze much more out on that end of things. (I do have crew for all but makeup now)

I've also posted on Mandy and tried craigslist, but CL isn't displaying it (not sure what the problem is there, I've posted on CL many times before)

Any tips/referrals anyone could share? Most of my work has been in state or 2 person traveling crews, so hiring elsewhere is new to me.

First of all, will Waco have people already living there with the skills/equipment that you're requesting? If not, then your pay seems rather low for someone who might have to drive there from Dallas/Austin. Especially since your shoot lasts multiple days, and especially since you don't mention any kind of accommodations for people who'd prefer to stay in Waco and not commute each day.

And what's with this "probably" bullshit when it comes to food on Thursday? Feed your people, dammit!

Thanks for the links, I will look into them. Any more general advice on hiring networks other than CL and Mandy? I will have a shoot in South Carolina next it seems....

@subtle - yes I will be feeding them on full days, just not sure if that will be or not. Also, I'm not familiar with who or what people live in Waco. I know that here in MI, I'm sometimes asked to work in cities that are 3 hours away, sometimes in Canada too, and I drive each day unless I'm offered lodging (it happens sometimes, it doesn't hurt to ask). I have offered additional monies for gas too.

There are some capable hands at Baylor, but securing the gear is another story.

There is a film conservatory of sorts in Greenville SC. Give the head guy a call (Brad maybe?). He may have a few eager students

I'd put in but I'm about to be on another shoot, but I do have to say the you go to job 3 hours away multiple days in a row? So after six hours driving each day and lets say an hour to shower and eat, when do you sleep? I doubt you are pulling multiple days with three to five hours of sleep and that long of a drive :/
