Advice on ENG44 field mixer from Equipment Emporium

I'm impressed with the price for a four channel mixer.

The only thing I'd want to know is how it sounds when being used.

I was trying to find, and couldn't locate, the switch to control the input settings for either mic or line level. Is it supposed to be "automatic"? And it mentions the outputs are line level. Can that be switched between mic and line level or is it always line levle out?

The headphone set up seems a little weird. Having to use a mic cable and adapter for headphones seems "clunky" and I'm not sure what they really accomplished by doing that. Wouldn't the boom operator already be hearing the audio since they carry the mixer or is this designed for the camera op to carry the mixer and then the boom op is cabled in seperately? It's kind of confusing...and they've made a big deal about this set up...which doesn't make sense to me.

It seems to offer a lot for the price but, again, what counts is the audio that comes out of it and how long the mixer lasts. Is it built strong to take a beating in the field? Maybe.

It seems like a great deal but, then again, I've always been one to say "if something sounds too good to be true..."

I'd love to hear from someone who has actually used one.
