I use one of these nice loupes on the ground glass of my large format camera, as well as looking at slide film on a light table:

It's not cheap, but for me it's free since I already have one. I'd like it to stay in nice shape so I can continue to use it for the other purposes.
It magnifies 4x, and produces an incredibly sharp and distortion-free image. It covers the 3" LCD top to bottom, but misses the corners.
I am looking for ideas for (1) making it stay in place without have to push it with my eye and (2) for installing a rubber eyepiece to it.
I'll be using mostly a Nikon D7000.
Do you think this thing is workable?
