I am currently thinking about doing a short film with legos. I was told I shoudl use a macro lens to film it, but I see that there are like +1+2,+3 etc. which shoudl I use for this type of film? and any inexpensive ones you can recommend? Also, I am beginning to filma friends band alot and was wondering if i should get the mc100g shotgun mic for better audio. It says its a directional mic so I dont know if it will even help out my audio at all. thanks alot

if you are going to film a band it has always been my experience to plug right in to their mixer. Unless they play unplugged. If that is the case then you should probably find a way to keep the mic in one spot. If it's on the camera and you are hand held the sound will change quite a bit throughout the taping.
as for the filming of the lego's which sounds cool by the way, before you buy anything try it with the lens that is on the camera. If you play around with it you may be surprised that you can get a great look without a macro.
check out Michel Gondry's video for the White Stripes. he uses lego's.

best of luck!
