Advice needed - Can I use MAC G4 Laptop as monitor with dvx100a

I have a 15" laptop MAC-G4 with FCP

I want to know if it is possible to view while I'm shooting ?
If so how?

michelle, i responded to this in the other thread you posted. but i'll respond here. you should be able to use it as a monitor, but it won't be the best quality. are you looking to capture to FCP or another NLE? or are you just looking to view your footage through a second source?

if it's the later, just get a small tv, but make sure you set the bars on it so you don't second guess your footage.

I've used my powerbook as a monitor.

Launch imovie and use the big window to see.

As a word of caution. Powerbooks make more noise than you think. Keep the mics away from it or you'll get a hum.
