I was approached by one of my colleagues about potentially expanding how we make DVDs. We made our first training DVD which received wild reviews. We're eventually are going to make training DVDs for mass duplication.
Currently the company I work for just bought me a new Dell with the entire Adobe Video Suite. They are also considering of getting the G5 system with Final Cut and Motion 2.
I'm particularly interested in finding out what you professionals use for video editing and DVD production. Although I wasn't given a specific budget, I was reminded that we're making training videos and NOT film. Any suggestions on production level equipment I should consider would appreciated.
Examples would include
1) TV monitor equipment during editing (other than CRT)
2) Additional Hard-drive suggestions (nesting external drives, HD size)
3) DVD duplication equipment (DLT drives and accessories - what would I need if I were to eventually send a master DVD to duplication companies?)
I have experience in making "commercial/personal" DVDs, but lack knowledge in making production level ones. I'd appreciate any advice from you professionals as we're looking to expand the company.
My thanks in advance and special thanks to the user mod/administrator who put the thread in the proper section.
