Advice for logging mixed footage (24pa, 30p, 60i, etc. on one tape)

I'm currently shooting a project where I'm using some of each framerate (except normal 24p) on the DVX for different shots. Most of it is 24pa and I'm going to edit the project in a 23.98 timelime.

My question is, when I'm logging and capturing the 24pa stuff, I use FCP's advanced pulldown. But I'm getting a few errors (something to do with the cadence being off) which I assume is my 30p and 60i footage having a problem. Should I just wait to log these clips at the regular 29.97? And is there any way to tell inside of FCP what shots were done at what fps? I guess it's easy enough to look at the footage and see that something's "off," and I also know pretty well which scenes were shot in each. Just wondered if anyone had a system worked out - next time I'll probably just make a note of the timecode if I switch.

Is there a real reason to shoot at multiple rates? Slow motion? Shooting multiple rates and then trying to edit in a 23.98 sequence is just asking for problems.

Whn you capture, capture it in sections with settigns for each section. Don't try to a capture now across an entire tape made of mutiple frame rates.

The only way these can all live on one timeline is to edit at 29.97. Editing at 23.98 with 30p is a disaster.

I should've added, the only reason I shot in the other frame rates was for slow motion. So the 30p will be played back at 23.98, and slowed down 80% from there (as per the instructions in Barry Green's book, if I'm remembering them right - I'll double check, of course). There actually isn't any 60i on the tape right now - that stuff'll come later, if at all.

I think I've found my solution, though. Next time I'll enable the User Bits feature and track my framerate that way, as well as making a note of it audibly before the take begins (this is kind of an amateur thing, so we aren't to the stage where we'd use a proper slate).

I'm wondering how one accesses the User Bits once they're written though - it sounds like they'll be viewable in Final Cut somewhere, but I'm not sure. If nothing else I'm sure the DVX will be able to read them in VCR mode so I can check that way.

Another idea might be to just have separate 24pa, 30p, and 60i tapes, but really I only used the other rates for a couple insert shots, so I don't know if that would be worth the trouble.
