I want to connect my Canopus ADVC110 to my TV receiver, so I can mirror my MacBook's full monitor output. Is this possible?
I know the ADVC110 can connect to a TV as a video monitor, but that only seems to display FCP's preview window, and not the full screen from the laptop.
I've attempted to do this with RCA cables from the ADVC110's component outputs, but that didn't work - I even held down the button on the ADVC110 and managed to get color bars up on the television, so I know the box was working properly - I just couldn't get the laptop's output displayed.
Has anyone done this? Do I need an HDMI cable? Do I need to change any settings on my MacBook? Any help would be appreciated - thanks.
