advantages to upgrading for this workflow?

My current workflow is two camera edit (Sony XDCAM), basic color grading, export either OMF of just an AIF for sound editing in ProTools or Digital Performer, export final QT master.

I do most of the editing on a MacBook Pro i7 dual core 2.66 with a matrox mxo2 mini for broadcast monitoring, then the show is ultimately finished on a 12 core macpro with a Kona card.

Would there be any advantage to switching to FCPX (we're using FCP7 now) for this workflow?

Thanks.

I should've added one more piece - when I finish my edit & color adjustments I then add an additional video layer of an animated logo in the lower right hand corner - this sometimes takes 1-3 hours to render for a 28:30 show. Would FCP X help this render time at all?

FCPX has some fast render times, especially if you have a good GPU.
but yesterday I went trough some 3D side by Side XDCAM footage from a nanoflash and I had the feeling that FCP7 did it with less effort then FCPX (Same footage).

Don't Forget that you can't export tracks in FCPX but you have to use Roles. Arguably more flexible, but maybe takes a bit more time maybe in tagging the roles. And for OMF you need 3rd party programs.
And FCPX does broadcast monitoring only under Lion and only PCI Express and Thunderbolt.
(don't know how the Matrox Mini connects)
