I can personally tell you that as a machinist in a former life, the Kessler is really well built. They have good support. They have a constant flow of ways to upgrade. Presently they are designing a trolly that will turn your crane into a motorized dolly.
The Kessler kit I linked to will need a few things to be complete. If you want the short 5.5 tip it could be added to the 8/12 kit for about $200 and is a nice addition. A varizoom monitor and remotes for your cam will cost you around $700. The VZ monitor isn't super, but will get the job done. There are always more gizmos to add, but that is a pretty nice crane for around your $3000 pricepoint.
