Advanced Pulldown Not Working?

I've been using 24pa (f6) and now today all of a sudden with no settings changed to either camera or FCP, my captures decided to screw up. Wherever there is movement the video breaks up and the audio lags behind (or is it the video?). This seems like it has something to do with the advanced pulldown but I checked my settings and they are still right. I'm really perplexed here....anyone with an idea?

Oh....I did clean my computer desk....maybe that was my mistake.

Ok...I don't think I like this very much but I tried 2 new tapes and both would play fine when viewed through the DVX vcr but not capture (unless you like broken up pixely junk). So I put the tapes into a JVC palm size camcorder and FCP captured the DVX shot video just fine. So it will capture from another source but not from the DVX. Any ideas here friends?

one of my friends just had *similar* problem like yours. her footage was accidentally shot on LP mode instead of SP and DVX didn't like to work with FCP with that tape in it. She eventually found out the fact that she shot in LP mode and grabbed a palm-corder and digitized into FCP under non-controllable device setup.

Wish my situation was that simple. It's shot on SP. But....I did find that by putting the tape in my JVC palmcorder I was able to get the media captured. I think it's very weird. I really wouldn't mind using the JVC as a "deck" but....that's my fly fishing camcorder and I'm afraid I'll screw up the heads by using pano tapes.

I had that happen once and what I did was capture the tape at 29.97and then running cinema tools to do the pulldown. that cleared up my problem. Also I later found out I was capturing into Final Cut pro with the setting in interlaced instead of progressive in the compression settings. Made changes to my capture settings and viola! great looking video.

My two cents...
