Advanced Picture in Picture Videos

I am trying to do videos with more advanced picture in picture features. I feel like Adobe Premiere might not offer enough features to do this easily. I do music videos with Picture in Picture style (like a four square) but I have to resize the video and then render it AND then I can mix it with the rest of my videos which takes a really long time. My goal is to do picture and picture more interativelly like the video below:

How can I do this with Adobe Premiere or what software should I use that offers more flexibility/ease of use to do this type of editing?

You don't have to render out and re-import

Read about , or look on youtube for tutorials on "nested sequences"

Nothing advanced at all in the example (link) you provided.

Very standard and simple to do in Premiere.

Resizing and positioning the clips is just part of the deal of Pic in Pic.

Set your self up a little grid matrix to work to .

Not that diffical in PProcs6 just a bit of time to do al that PIP, on the other hand Canopus Edius is a damn site faster (RT) and eazier in their layouter tool or in 3D Picture to picture tool than Adobe.

Thank you guys for the responses. Last night it occurred to me to duplicate the sequence and then importing it back and yes huge improvement to the workflow by not having to render it. I still have a little bit of trouble creating borders and resizing the videos when doing split screens. I use the 'Crop' tool but I haven't found a way to resize the videos without having to crop.

I was hoping there was a program with 'themes' or so where I could just drag and drop my sequences :) But that's me being lazy.

I checked out Canopus Edius and it does look really easy. I wonder if Adobe After Effects could help as well.

Took a look at the video example. These split screens are relative easy to do and it's not advance whatsoever. Some split screens may require the Crop filter while others are either just resizing, repositioning or using a matte to achieve this. A quick way to create a four screen split is by having the anchor points of your clips touch the four corners of your screen. Then you can scale them easily until you have enough of a border between all the clips.

You need to find the" Effects Window"> Motion> SCale , Position, Opacity

Select a clip and it has all the above (Fixed Effects)

BTW: If you are lazy...After Effects is not for you.!
