ADRing in FCP?

I shot a scene on the beach and the audio blows. You can't hear the actors very well, the waves aren't right or steady, etc. So I need to ADR most of it (Something I HATE doing). What is the best way to go about doing this? I, of course, have no audio equipment so I will have to use the DVX mic :zombie_smiley: Whats my best bet? This isn't a huge project but I dont want it to sound like crap. Sugestions?

Some people more in tune (pun?) to sound stuff might disagree with me, but personally at that point I would do a few things. You can add and layer all your sound effects in Soundtrack, so assuming you have that, that's what I'd go with. They even have handy beach sound effects that you can use for the ambient noise. After that, I would get your actor(s) in a recording booth or just a good quiet room and just try to dub the audio over the video the best you can. Then, go through and clean up the audio and tweak it to your liking. Unfortunetly I don't have soundtrack in front of me to go into more detail, but I've done voice overs and the like before with soundtrack and had great results after cleaning the sound a little. When you're all finished, save the audio and export to FCP. Place the new sound tracks over the old ones from the footage. Good luck! Let me know if you need more help.
