ADR tips for a master [one] shot

I recently shot two scenes [one indoor, one outdoor] that need ADR. There were planes, cars, etc. in the background that effected the audio. Both scenes are one shots and I don't plan to cut to other angles. Each scene has two main characters. I plan to edit with FCP and work on the audio in Soundtrack.

-What are your suggestions or advice regarding with ADR?

-Is it easier from them to hear the audio then repeat it?
-Should they hear the audio and then try and match it to the picture?

-I plan to send them them the audio and video files to study their performance, tone, and delivery.
-I plan to record with the same audio setup used: Sound Devices 302, Marantz 670, and either an indoor or outdoor mic. (depending on which one was used). I already have recorded room tone which I plan to mix in post.

Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks.

do a search ken, theres a great thread on this somewhere in the archives. but it does sound like you're thinking in the right way...

Trying to ADR with FCP? I can't say it's impossible but it's in the same neighborhood (does FCP even have sub frame editing for audio?).

Tim's right, do a search in here and google it. Tons of quick and easy info on how to attempt it. Nothing but experience will teach you how to do it well and effectively.

Cheers
