Does anyone know of a software that automates the process of placing the three beeps prior to where the dialogue needs to be replaced by ADR. I have heard that pyramix does that but I was hoping an apple product was capable of doing it.
Yes thee are but $$$$$. The cheapest universal box is made by horita. Works great but you have to feed it TC. We were triggering it with a contact closure from a Sync I/O which makes it even simpler. Also does wipes, which was why we got it in the first place.
If all you want is beeps it's very easy to just make a region that has the three beeps and the dead air up to where the fourth would be. Set your cursor to where you want to punch in and snap the tail to the cursor and have your preroll set for four seconds. Very fast. This is in ProTools in other apps YMMV. Logic and possibly Nuendo have a wipe function built in.
