Adobe Unveils After Effects 7

Great, more money I need to spend.
:)

"Real-time, high-fidelity OpenGL support"

Kick Ass!

With that, and the addition of 32bit floating point.... and IF color finesse 2.0 ever gets released.... we could have a really nice CC solution.

hey guys, i'm looking to get either a dual or a quad g5 system. you think i'll benefit more w/ a quad? does after effects take advantage of multiple processors? thanks!

any effects program will take advantage of more power. time to hit up my secret stash of harddrive space for this one.......MUAHAHA!

do they usually have an upgrade from 6.5 pro?

Is anyone getting this soon?

OpenGL sounds like it might be better, Timewarp sounds cool, they are certainly pushing Adobe Bridge accross their complete product line but version 7 doesn't appear to be that much different from 6.5Pro?

They talk about animation and behavior presets, which 6.5 has, but it would be interesting to find out how much further they have taken this. If its as easy to use and as quick to design broadcast graphics as Motion it would certainly be worth the price of the upgrade.

If anyone tries this could you let the rest of us who don't want to be the first to dive in know?

It will if you use this with it:

I did a render with just the quad and it took 2min11sec. Using nucleo it went down to 28 seconds.

Nuff Said.

AE by design (not sure about 7 yet) doesn't fully use both processors in a dual system. It really only drives one. Using this plug, it makes use of all.

Hallelujah - the light is upon us. I'm just loving the cosmetic changes. Too bad they'll kill my comp

I think I'll just wait until I can purchase a Mac and FCP. Until then, I'll just have to salivate over the shiny new finish.

Be careful, Justin. Adobe's gobblings up everyone - they're gonna target the pirates next. Or Autodesk...

(ahahaha - Adobe featuring a 3d line - ahahahaha; *gulp*)
